Come one, come all to enjoy Estes Park’s newest attraction! The town of Estes Park’s free shuttle system kicked off its eighth season June 21 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new downtown trolley. The trolley is among many upgrades to the 2013 shuttle season. Estes Park is very proud and can’t wait for all the visitors to use and enjoy this attraction! While staying at the Castle Mountain Lodge in beautiful Estes Park, you can take a short drive to the downtown area, which is only a few minutes away from the lodge. Even if you don’t have a place to go, riding the trolley will be sure to amaze you as you coast through downtown and take in all of Estes Park’s beauty and luxuries!
The trolley leaves the Estes Park Visitor Center and runs a continuous loop from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Gold Route travels west into downtown with stops at Bond Park/Town Hall, Local’s Grill, the Ore Cart Rock Shop, Tregent Park, West Park Center, and Maxwell Inn before turning around and stopping at the Elkhorn Lodge, Mrs. Walsh’s Garden, the Grubsteak Restaurant, The Trading Post and Barlow Plaza.
The Estes Park Free Shuttle system consists of five routes, all of which bring riders to the core downtown area:
Silver Route: park-n-ride at the fairgrounds at Stanley Park
Blue Route: Big Thompson Avenue (U.S. 34 east of downtown) and three new stops along Dry Gulch Road
Red Route: Fall River Road (U.S. 34 west of downtown)
Brown Route: campgrounds and other establishments in outlying areas to the south and west sides of town.
Gold Route: Elkhorn Avenue downtown with the new town trolley.
A map of the shuttle routes, shuttle bus tracking, and the full schedule is available at www.estes.org/shuttles. For more information about Estes Park’s shuttle routes, please contact the Estes Park Visitor Center staff at 970-577-9900.
